The most recent Fortnite update adds dynamic weather to the game. During battle royale rounds, players will now have to contend with lightning storms and tornadoes.
In its most recent season, Fortnite has introduced a slew of new features that have dramatically altered the combat. Not only did Epic bring back Quad Crashers, which are ATVs with a variety of functions, but they also introduced Spider-trademark Man's web-shooters, a new slide mechanic, and insanely powerful SMGs. The incorporation of dynamic weather is a continuation of this trend.
The most recent version, as well as its dynamic weather, incorporates active tornadoes and lightning storms. Epic outlined these new improvements and the abilities they provide players in a press statement.
Tornadoes will develop at random on the battlefield, allowing players to take to the skies and glide away from fight or toward an objective. After being spit out of a twister, players will not take any fall damage.
Lightning storms can also benefit players by shocking them, causing them to take some damage but gain some speed. Players can improve their chances of being struck by lightning by diving into the sea beneath the storm cloud or ascending to the highest point possible. Lightning, likewise, will not strike twice — literally. Once a player is struck, he or she will not be struck again during that storm.
The flare gun is a new weapon in the latest update. Flare weapons, like firefly jars, ignite and spread fires that do continuing harm to any players who get too close to the flames. They'll appear on the map in the form of chests and supply drops, as well as on the ground.
The latest update is currently live in Fortnite lobbies worldwide. Feel free to jump in tornadoes as much as you like.
